The Quadresse square step light from Liriaz is a minimalist outdoor light for stair treads, garden walls, retaining edges and entry paths. The body is aluminium alloy in a matte black finish with a glass shade, a combination chosen to resist fading, rust and oxidation in exposed positions rather than just looking the part on day one. The compact 11.7 cm (4.6 in) square face sits close to the wall and throws light downwards onto the tread, so the fixture stays visually quiet while the step itself becomes obvious in the dark.
A 3W LED module produces around 210 lumens at a warm 3000K, bright enough to read a step edge clearly without the harsh white cast that makes an entrance feel institutional. The IP65 waterproof rating is designed for direct rain and splashing, so the light can run down an external staircase, along a driveway wall or around a basement or attic entry without a sheltered position. Sets of one through to ten let you light a single landing or step out a full flight in a single order.
This is a hardwired 110-240V fixture suited to standard Australian 240V mains power, and installation should be completed by a licensed electrician, ideally planned in while walls or render are open. Mount the lights at a consistent height above each tread for an even rhythm down the flight. To keep light output steady, switch off the power and wipe the glass with a soft damp cloth to clear dust, cobwebs and salt spray, and check the fixings once a year on staircases that see heavy foot traffic.
