Solvane clusters twelve clear glass globes around a group of small metal spheres, each arm set at a different length so the shape reads loose rather than symmetrical. It is a Nordic silhouette with a bit more weight to it than the usual bare-bulb cluster. The metal is electroplated gold, and the plating is what gives the arms their fine grain and keeps the finish stable over time.
The glass is chosen for transmittance, so the twelve bulbs read as bright points rather than soft blurs. Each takes a 3W G4 LED and all twelve are included. Warm white at 3000K suits a bedroom or a dining table; 6000K white works better in a kitchen or over a desk. Rated coverage is 161 to 215 square feet, which puts it comfortably in range for a standard living room or a generous dining space.
The fixture measures 31 inches across and 31 inches tall, so give it room; it is a centrepiece, not a corner light. The cord is 20 inches and adjustable, enough to tune the drop above a table. Indoor use only. Switch off the power and wipe the globes with a dry cloth, holding each one at the base rather than the neck. It runs at 110-120V and is hardwired, so have a licensed electrician complete the connection.
